M.E.S. Kalladi College, Mannarkkad is the proud symbol of the Muslim Educational Society, Calicut to the cause of higher education in Kerala, especially to the educationally backward areas of Malabar. This is the first college started by the MES and is also the Felicious outcome the noble endeavor of the late Kalladi Cheriya Kunhammed Sahib and the local public.

College is located in a vast area, a major part of which was donated by the late Janab Valayadi Kunhayammu Haji. The campus is situated in the Mannarkkad Panchayath on a beautiful hillock in the Palakkad-Calicut National Highway and is bordered by the perennial Kunthipuzha and fortressed by panoramic Attapadi hills .

The college started functioning as a Junior College in 1967 . University of Calicut permitted to start degree classes during 1971-1972 in History, Economics, Mathematics, Botany and Commerce. The affiliation for B. Sc. Chemistry course was granted in 1976. The college was upgraded as Post Graduate College in 1978 with the introduction of M. Com. Affiliation for BA Islamic History and Arabic was granted in 1979. M. Sc. Chemistry was started in 1981 and MA History in 1984. In 1993 B.Sc. Physics was started, M.Sc. (Mathematics) in 1995, MA (Economics) in 1998, BBA in 1999 and M.Sc. (Physics) in 2001. In 2013 B.Com Computer Application (Self Financing), B.Com Co-opreation (Self Financing), BBA (Self Financing), BA English were started. BSc Computer Science (Self Financing) and BCA (Self Financing) were started in 2014. In 2015 MSc Botany (Self Financing), BSc Food Technology (Self Financing), BA Mass communication (Self Financing) were introduced.

Silver Jubilee of the college was celebrated in 1992. The college has been re-accredited for a period of 5 years with "A" grade by the NAAC in 2013.
